I have had good luck with google adsense on several sites. It does not really matter what your niche is. If you can add it reasonably to a site it will make you money. Simple as that.

Look just over the camera, or else it will seem (when viewing) that the audience is being stared at.

This may sound really silly, but it works for a lot of people. Take a paper plate and cut a hole out of the middle. This is where you will attach your video camera lens. On the paper plate draw a face. Now when you talk to the camera it will feel like you are talking to a person. You could name your new plate-person-friend something silly. That way you will smile when you look at the camera. Also, you could just put a real person’s photo there – it works just as well. Good luck.
